@Laura, happy to be juicing with you again!
Today went pretty well, considering that I served breakfast for 2 hours. I think I did better since I wasn't eating ANYTHING - if I were just watching my diet I would have been ALL OVER it! I've had breakfast, lunch, and one snack juice (orange/carrot/spinach)and I'm about to make my dinner juice. Then off to choir rehearsal (I'm the director).

Just finished my last juice which just consisted of all the leftovers I had left. Not bad, but not great either! Thank you so much for the info on the different juicers. You are definitely right about the carrot pulp and the Hamilton. I want to thank you so much for all your support through this experience. I am so proud of all of us who made it! As of this morning, I have lost 5 lbs. Can't wait to see what the total is tomorrow morning. Will definitely do this with you again, maybe even for a 7 day one?! Thank you again for your great website and all the support!!!!

You guys have done so well! I'd like to hear from all of you on how your juice fast went!

How long did you juice for?
This will be day 4 in row for me

What was the hardest part about your juice fast?
Pizza night with my sons, took them out for pizza. They really enjoyed trying to con me into eating a slice. They pulled out everything and even offered to clean their rooms!

What was the best part of your fast?
The best part of my fast was that I got to do it with all of you! You guys are really great and help to motivate all of us! I learn something new every fast and it's wonderful getting to know all of you and your experiences.

How much weight did you lose?
I wasn't keeping track from the beginning but am at 183 right now. At the end of the last fast I was 186.

What hurdles if any did you overcome?
Every fast encourages me more and more to try out new things that I wouldn't have before. With each fast I realize I have more will power than I ever thought imaginable.

Will you juice again?
Of course! I'll post the next 3 Day Group Juice Fast in another few days!

@Jeanne: Good to see you again too! Glad your marathon went well. Big Sur is always spectacular!

@JOJ and group:

I did a 3 day fast this time. I did have a break for lunch on day 1 (plans made well in advance) so I will juice breakfast tomorrow to make up for that before switching back to solid food. Can't wait!

The hardest part for me, as always, is hunger. My husband works out of town and I generally go to the gym during lunch hour so I haven't had a whole lot of temptations, but every time I'm making a juice I just want to bite into all those gorgeous, CRUNCHY veggies and fruits I'm dropping down the chute!

The best part of fasting is being able to see the results right away. I actually tightened my belt a notch today...it's on a hole that hasn't been used in a long time. Also, I agree with Donnie about this group...without the motivation, encouragement and support of this forum I doubt I would be able to stick with the plan all the way through.

I've lost about 4 lbs since Monday morning. But even more important is that notch on my belt!

Hunger and cravings to bite into real food are my biggest obstacles to getting through these fasts. Again, thank goodness for this forum and all of you!

I will juice again. I think I'll try to do 3 day fasts every two weeks through the summer. Hope to see you all back here again! :-)

I am getting better at making juices. Today I had the purple power for lunch and the shock top for dinner, with 2 "snack" juices, one at about 3pm and one after choir. I was hungrier today than yesterday. I will juice again tomorrow, I started on Tuesday. I put just a little ginger in the shock top, I haven't been using the ginger since my first couple of juices last time.
I'll give my report tomorrow night. The support of this group is really great and is key to my success at it. Thanks.

GM going for another day-Day 4- have an eventful day full of food and activities with my colleagues. But going to make it through-enjoying the weight loss and the nutrients. Stay strong-just do it!

@Corpusmae: You're kicking butt! I did 7 days my first time...it's totally doable. I'm impressed that you're able to be around all that food all day, though! Just remember, you'll be slimming down and feeling great while they go home with food hangovers. Ugh!

@jeanne The purple power was my go to dinner drink for a long time. I'll have to try a little ginger in the shock top recipe.

@corpusmae After 3 full days of juicing it gets easier to be around food, but like Larua said, you'll be slimming down and feeling great while they go home with food hangovers. Stay strong and keep motivated!

About the same today as far as what juices, they were ok. I always like the breakfast one! The others, no so much, lol. What was kind of weird is that the 1st day was much easier this time but days 2 & 3 have been difficult, just hungry all the time. I don't really crave anything, though. I'm about to have another juice, I'll have to get creative, I didn't shop as well this time & I'll have to go with what's in the fridge.

1. I juiced for 3 days
2. The hardest part is just being hungry. A lot. I do make snack juices but it's never really enough.
3. The best part of the fast is the weight loss, honestly.
4. As of this morning, I was down 4.4#, and only .2# away from my goal weight (what I like to call my "fighting weight"). I should be down more tomorrow morning.
5. The only thing I'd call a hurdle was being hungry. I also "sample" a lot when I'm cooking & baking and I had to keep reminding myself not to do that on day 1 & 2. I really did not think I could fast on the days when I was getting the food ready & serving for the Teacher Apprec. breakfast.

Hi everyone, Just got home from a day of taking my staff bowling and feeding them hamburgers. Earlier they had food trays and a spa day from us. I didn't go into the gym where it was set up because I didn't need to be around it but actually was so busy that it didn't even matter. Walked into my office to see gifts of food from people- brought it home for my husband. Have to say today I did not really feel hungry at all. I am a little hungry now cause I haven't had my juice tonight and probably didn't eat enough today, a little weak but hey I want to keep going.
@ Laura- thanks so much for the encouragement and the motivation- it really helps. I came right to the computer before I make my juice as I know your words will help
@Donny- funny about you and Laura talking about the food hangovers, about 2 people told me their stomachs hurt from eating too much this week, it keeps me going, also I am reviewing this book I have that describes all the fat, salt and sugar that they put in fast food and it helped me as I was driving down fast food row on the way to bowling alley...getting past that
@jw26pt2- you are doing great, keep going, you can do it, it helps me to have you on the board. We can do this! So excited about all the support. Have a great night guys, I am going to go make my juice. The will to change...just do it!!!

Came home cause I didn't have my juice ready to go. Just drank water and it's already 2:30- was feeling weak but drinking a great mango, orange and watermelon juice-yummy! Must plan ahead but my life is pretty hectic right now- but oddly enough I didn't feel hungry but do not want to hold on to the weight if I don't drink juice as I should. Down 8 pounds so far- my pants are already falling down-cool right?

@ Corpusmae- Congrats on the weight loss and making it almost a week so far! I'm new here and new to juicing. The more I read the more I want to try a juice fast, but I have to admit, I'm very nervous about it. I've gone a day juicing, but I feel like crap the next day and I'm worried about feeling like that at work. I'm gonna follow everyone's progress here and maybe I'll be ready for the next one. Keep up the good work!

@jamid79, The not so good feeling doesn't last too long, but there are plenty of ways to ease yourself into it. You could start by juicing 2-3 times per day and eating a light lunch while at work. That would help ease you into a full out juice fast.

@corpusmae, You are really kicking butt!!! I'm curious to see if you go past 7 days and on to do 2 weeks like I did on my first fast. After my first seven days I couldn't really imagine going back to solids. Keep at it and keep your goals as your focus and motivation. I'm always checking the boards and comment when I can so if you post it, I'll see it :)

Good Morning- Day 6 here I come...feel better everyday. Had a comment yesterday that I look younger-it's those fruits and vegetables...not ready to quit by any means. I have always done for others, this time it's my turn- my son and I are hanging in there together. Scale says 10 pounds down-woohoo!
@jamid79-thanks for the support- yeah you go through a rough stretch at first but hey it's totally worth it. I feel better already and been around food all week. People throw food in your face and society as a whole has food swirling around you, but hey what does your body really need? If you really research what you are eating-especially fast food or restaurant servings which are made for 2 or more people you get appalled. Everyone around me eating are constantly complaining of headaches, sinus headaches, tiredness, face breaking out and I have experienced none of that now that I have moved on- I sleep like a baby and only get tired if I miss my juice time. I am proud of myself and as Donnie said- keep your goals as your focus and motivation- mine is "Follow through"- all my life when it came to weight or health, I would do a little for awhile and then regress into old bad habits-up and down, up and down and then for a long time just up-feeling like crap-letting every excuse get in the way...deserve this, deserve that etc. I saw a quote last night that I liked, "When you are interested in something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results." I am tired of being successful in most areas of my life except health. I've made alot of changes in the past year. Let go of meat middle of Sept. 2012 and have stuck to that, ate more vegetables and fruits, but know it is time to move the needle as I was eating too much processed food- starches, sugars that made me bloat and feel awful. I still have some problems but hey no one is going to figure it out but me- your body talks, it tells you something is wrong but we don't take the time to listen, everything else is more important than us- NO MORE! Nothing is more important than health and well being and I deserve this- I will get off my soapbox now- just tired of being sick and tired...here I go lemon water and then juice for a day where I am working around people who are eating and people who don't get it, but results will speak for themselves. Carpe Diem and Press on, press through, press forward...Enjoy your day...it's one day at a time and good is there if you look for it...

corpusmae, that was very motivational. I think more and more people are becoming more aware of the pure benefits of self discipline and juicing for health. It makes no sense the have wealth, freedom and all the perks in when our health is our number one asset and priority. Without health how can we enjoy what we have worked so hard for? Loved your story!

Home from my morning at work- they ordered 8 pizzas while I was there to feed the staff. Pan pizza with pepperoni and cheese. They kept offering me a slice until I shared with them, 1 slice of pepperoni pan pizza =380 calories for a large slice =45% fat, they stopped bothering me after that-HA! Just made a delicious red beet drink super tasty with orange and kiwi, green apple and parsley and kale-yummy!!! Loving my life-Staying strong and following through one meal at a time...can only get better!!! Health to all!!!

Action the magic word- that is what I am taking, not just talking but doing. Is action easy? Not necessarily but there are no results without action, otherwise it's just idle chatter. Just made my last juice for the night. I know some prepare ahead of time but when I am getting hungry I make my juice and then take time to clean up. What am I teaching myself- reprogramming the old habit of devouring food or everything in sight as soon as I see it. Isn't that what we do? Cram a hamburger down in 2 bites, rarely taste it and then feel bloated, swallow down that pizza, pasta, seafood, fries, chicken wings without even known what we've eaten. Hear the incessant call at the drive through window- do you want small, medium or large at every fast food place? That's how I've been programmed to believe -that I will die of starvation (HA) if I don't get it quick. So now I am writing this to all you supporters as my juice sits by my side ready to go. It's still good an hour has not passed by and my water is close. Taking time to breathe, reflect and have gratitude for the discipline to choose- not controlled by food. Hope you all are doing well- there is more to juicing than just dealing with no food- there is mindset to reverse- food will always be there- I can have this and that when I choose to stop fasting but am I going to talk about getting healthy, or am I going to do it? Up to me, I reap what I sow...Happy Juicing and Best Wishes to all who are beginning the journey. I will go as long as I choose but I will reboot often, this I know!

I am still Donnie, I had to deal with two events, mother's day and my boss's dinner tonight. This is how I dealt with it, so you may think I went off the fast but I did the best I could. Day 7 Mother's Day, I just drank juice and my mother wanted to go out to eat at a restaurant, I picked one that had asparagus soup-closest I could get to a juice as my mom would not go out to eat unless I did...ate a bowl of that- that's all with water. Went right back to juicing for my dinner, and managed to pass up popcorn etc at movies. There was some fiber in the asparagus soup not pure juice so the bathroom next morning cleaned out my gut even more from what was left there before:). ?Tonight was my bosses' dinner, they had all kinds of goodies there as well...didn't really want to get into it with him as far as explanations, long story so I passed up salmon, risotto, shrimp appetizers, a great salad, chocolate dessert and just had them order me a tomato soup. It probably had cream in it, not sure but I dealt with it that way. Later as I juice longer I probably will stick to juice no matter what but I kind of know limits on my circumstance so this is what I felt was best choice for me. Juiced all day beside that. So tomorrow no more commitments with people yay- don't have to explain a thing for awhile- will juice all day. Day 9 - not sure if I can count as such but am going to. I just know this is a lifestyle choice for me as I see fit. Call it reboot or Day 9 I am still going for it. The good news is that I bought 3 books on juicing with my Mother's Day money that was given to me and I am down 11 pounds, so here I go continuing on. If I decide to stop of my own accord, not because someone expects me to eat at some function I will let you know. For now I am still going for it, one day at a time and I am pleased about it. Well just got home from the boss's dinner and it is already 10 pm so going to go read my juice book and hit the sack. Thanks for asking- meaning to write but had two busy filled days! Good Night!
