Cleaning fruit and veg

Unfortunately not all of my produce is organic, so what is the best way to wash it before juicing. Some of these pesticides are designed to withstand heavy rain and still stick to the fruit, and do they penetrate the fruit and taint the flesh?

Rob, make sure you are thoroughly scrubbing and rinsing all of your produce regardless of if it's organic or not.

It's a common misconception to believe that organic produce doesn't use pesticides. The fact is all farmers whether organic or conventional, spray their crops and use pesticides. The difference is that Organic farmers are only allowed to use certain approved sprays and pesticides. There are over 20 chemicals that are commonly used in the growing and processing of organic crops that are approved by the Organic Standards.

So regardless of where your produce comes from, CLEAN IT!!! The best way to clean it is to scrub it really well with a brush. If it's a fruit with a rind, make sure you are peeling that rind off.

As long as you are doing your best to scrub and clean you should be safe.

I was 212 lbs before I started juicing, today I am 185 lbs and feel better than I did 10 years ago!
