Ruby Red Juice

Made a very nice simple juice that consisted of the following:

2 parts Carrot
1 Part Beet
1 Part Raspberry

So, use about 50% carrot juice, 25% beet juice, and 25% raspberry juice. It has a sweet, semi-tangy flavor but is mellow enough to sip over ice for a relaxing finish to your day or a great pick up in the morning or around lunch. Enjoy!

Irene, it's important to stick to just juice if you want to stay on the fast. It's tough at first but trust me, it gets so much easier. The initial focus of the fast is to stop the digestion process. During a fast your body will absorb the juice, not digest it. So when you add a dinner you are giving your system something to digest and that puts you out of the fast.

A good way to ease into the fast is to start by juicing one to three times per day while eating once or twice per day. This will help get you prepared for an all out juice fast. If you have any questions or need help, just let me know.

Are beet greens an acceptable alternative to the actual beets? I have a kidney tumor, and have been told that beets are hard on the kidney in juice. Any thoughts?

No Momma G, The greens are not an alternative. But carrots are a great alternative for beets along with Chard, most types of Berries, Red Cabbage, or Squash. Try out a few of those alternatives and let me know how it tastes.
