Refreshing treat
on: April 14, 2013, 22:47

Last night I juiced a very refreshing dessert type juice. I was very impressed with how simple yet flavorful it was.

2 cups butternut squash
1 red apple
2 mango slices
1 dash of cinnamon

This was just what I needed for that sweet craving that I occasionally get. Enjoy!

Sounds good! And it will give me a chance to try butternut squash in a juice.

I weighed 201 pounds when I started juicing on March 15, 2013. My weight today is now 185 1/2 on 4/21/13.

Let me know how you like it. I think it will be a great winter drink to try with pumpkin instead of the squash.

Since pumpkins are kind of large to use up so quickly (Unless you drink a lot of it within a certain time frame), would it be okay to freeze fresh pieces of it, without cooking it first so as to maintain the integrity of the fruit?

Good question MW, believe it or not, freezing locks in vitamins and minerals and doesn’t affect the nutritional value of fruits and or vegetables much at all. So yes, it would be safe to freeze the extra pumpkin.

Thank you! I tried googling but everywhere I read that you should cook the pumpkin first. I'll try freezing fresh.

You can cut it up and freeze it, it will be just fine MW.

I have had this before (minus the mango) and it is one of my favorites! Will try it with the mango next time. Great for fall.

Come fall I'm going to experiment with pumpkin and a few other things. I want to make some festive fall juices!
