Day 3, down another 3 lbs, pretty lethargic but not hungry. Easier to "drink" throughout the day, but remain achy, really achy. No headache, that's a relief. Sure am glad I stocked up toilet paper! Cuz now I'm using it big-time! Looking forward to breakfast juice (2 granny smith, 2 carrots, 20 grapes and a banana). So yummy! Usually drink 1/2 then add some spinach to the second half.

Not hungry, just blah. Only managed the 3 juices with 72 oz of water yesterday, the 4th one eludes me for some reason, although the 3 are typically 20-ish oz. Just feeling blah.

Still here, still juicing, just blah.

SOS, I think I just fell off. Had a piece of chicken with some veggie sauce I was making for my family, did some serious exercise today and I was starving. I feel sick, eww! Can I get right back in? Still want to continue juicing.

Thank you so much for your reply and showing great support :), I truly appreciate it. How about Tomatoes and Carrots? should I limit them to one as well? or you mean the 'regular' fruits like apple, berries, etc?

Thank you once again.

Congrats Aunti-Momo on another 3 pounds! Day three is usually when the detox is at it's worst. You're still going through detox so hang in there and that blah feeling will be replaced with a good amount of energy!

Ada, just continue to juice and don't worry about the food. Mistakes happen but try not to let them stop you from hitting your goals. Lighten your exercises if you need to.

Ed, for regular fruits yes, apples, berries, oranges, etc. But, you should still limit the amount of tomatoes and carrots you use as they do contain sugar. Just try to use 1-2 fruits including carrots/tomatoes in your juices and you should be good. If you have to, check your blood/sugar levels throughout the day to see if your taking in too much sugar.

You're very welcome Ed!

Day 4, 8.2 lbs totally gone, I do feel better this morning. Although all of my muscles feel like I did some horrific workout, and all I did was sleep, gotta be the residuals of the "achy" from yesterday. I read about folks working out and can't believe it-I get worn out from taking out the trash, and yesterday morning just standing and cleaning the juicer was hard.

Yesterday, a good friend was all "you should stop tomorrow, you did 3 days that's good" but I kept thinking, yeah, I did the 3 days, the 3 hardest days, why would I give up when it's easier from now on? Does that make sense?

Just hoping this foggy-brain thing goes away-I'm an analyst and need to be able to think.

Still here, and so very thankful for your input, other posters and this site. Thank You!

Aunti-Momo you have the right train of though. You just did the the hard part now why stop? It will only get easier from here on out. That foggy-brain feeling will soon go away and be replaced by your body's natural energy.

Ed, I was 207 when I started and got down to 186 during my first fast. Even after I went back to solids I continued to drop weight and made it to 182. Your goal is very achievable and I'm sure you can do it!

JOJ and team,

In addition to regular juicing, Can I use organic Vegetable Broth (or organic chicken broth), add additional vegetables in it and drink just the juice / soup?
Since I am pre-diabetic, I don't have much room with fruits and limited tomato/carrots. However, I don't want to slow down weight loss either. Please advise.

Ed, no need to add any broth to the juice. It's important to have only the juice you make while on a juice fast. Check your blood sugar throughout the day to ensure everything is fine. If something's not fine let me know and we will come up with something. Stray strong and keep going Ed!

Im on day 2 of 60 and other than me feeling a little weak i feel fine. No headaches or anything. Ive read this site two or three times and i love all the informative information. Only complaint is that i dnt have the wil to drink. Has anyone else experienced this? If so did it pass? If so how long did it take? My other question is do i have to use ginger in my juices? I cant stomach the taste at all.

Grats on day 2 Cyndy! I didn't have the will to drink at first either. Had to force myself to chug the juices. Now I really enjoy them, even though I still chug them sometimes. You don't have to use ginger if you don't want to. It's not going to make or break your fast. So feel free to stop including it in your juices.

Thanks Joj. I weighed myself this morning and im down 6lbs in 3 days. That in itself is motivation enough for me. Quick question.......while juicing can i chew sugar free gum? Or is that a definite no no? Was wondering because the taste in my mouth from detoxing and brushing my teeth 5xs a day os crazy. Lol

I'm on day one. I did a seven day fast awhile ago. I still have a bunch of weight to lose so I am back at it. I think I will have to do more than a 30 day fast to get to my goal weight but it will be worth it. I'm not a very active person but I am going to try and get some walking in each day. I hope this will help me lose the weight along with fasting.

Debi, it's good to do light exercise when fasting. I would suggest you wait till after the detox phase of the fast before you start to exercise though. Give it 3-5 days and then start your exercise. It will give your body time to adjust to the fast and detox. I'm sure you'll be able to hit your goal if you stick with it. I'll be here if you have questions.

Thank you JOJ I will wait then a few days to do the light exercise. I did get the gallon bags to organize my juices. My husband isn't juicing but he has been helping me a lot get organized. He shops for the fruits/veg then we wash all of it when he brings it home. We do a days worth in the gallon bags. Makes it easier and faster for me when I go to juice. I have also been freezing some so that I can use them and take the week end of from using the juicer. We also found some plastic storage bins that people use for shoes. We are using them to store some of the veggies so they are organized nicely in the refrigerator. I want to say thank you for this site. It is so inspirational to read about everyone's journey and progress in juicing. Thank you for all the hard work JOJ you put into this site.

Hello Everyone, Im planning on doing a juice fast for as long as possible. I have done this before, for 21 days, 4 days & 7 days. I'm planning to start this one on 8/7/2013 and I am feeling incredibly anxious. I guess it's because I know what to expect in the first week or so. I found it quite difficult in the first couple of weeks, however it certainly paid off in the end. For me personally it was around 10-15 days where I felt the benefit of fasting. Ideally I would like to go 30 days this time. I soooooo, want to do this!!
Shall keep ya all posted!!
