Hello everyone. I just started my fast today with fresh grapefruit juice for breakfast (11:00AM) and tea rather than coffee. My plan is to go grocery shopping with the 7-day shopping list in hand. I do have some veggies ripening in the garden that I will be able to add to some recipes. Thanks for letting me join your group.

Halfway through day 2 and I'm doing pretty good. Prepping my 3 drinks this morning took about 45minutes from start to finish including clean up so that's not too bad. I've been spacing out the juices and have had LOTS of water in between so I'm not Hungry. That's not to say I don't want to eat, I would definitely eat pizza and beer if someone put it in front of me (Congrats Laurel), but hiding out at work and at home will hopefully help get me through it. I've had a very mild head ache on and off, but so far nothing intolerable. I'm hoping tomorrow will be more of the same.

Due to some pre-existing items on my calendar, today is my last fasting day. Thanks for all of the tips and support and GOOD LUCK!

Beverly, congrats on starting your fast and welcome to JOJ! Let me know if you have any questions!

Jen, Day 2 and 3 are usually the hardest. It sounds like you are doing awesome! Remember, it's okay to take tylenol or ibuprofen for headaches.

Laurel, You did wonderfully well on your juice fast. I hope you continue to juice off and on and visit the forums to share your story and information with others.

I was 212 lbs before I started juicing, today I am 185 lbs and feel better than I did 10 years ago!

Hey everyone,
Today is day 5 for me, it has been pretty smooth sailing! I have had great energy, no headaches or severe hunger pangs (usually only hungry when I wake up and around 12-1 pm), and my sugar cravings are non existent. The only things I really am "craving" are fruits to chew on, specifically watermelon and kiwi. I have been sleeping extremely well the past two nights, and waking up before my alarm clock which has been awesome.
This morning I used up the produce left in my fridge from over the weekend: beet, grapefruit, tomato, kiwi, apple, spinach, parsley, lemon. I had enough to store some in the fridge for later. I also have a leftover green giant from yesterday that I am planning to drink for lunch. The weight is still coming off pretty rapidly, but I am hoping in the next few days it will sort of level out, and once I start reintroducing solid foods I know I will probably gain some of it back, since I didn't really do this cleanse to specifically lose weight. My legs have never looked better, though!

Hope everyone else is doing great! Keep it up!

Hiheyhello, congrats on day 5! Those pics are really great! The weight will continue to come off or level out if you stay eating healthy when you come off your fast. Another thing to take into consideration is if you workout you will continue to lose a little fat but gain weight in muscle mass. It's great that your getting good sleep and the cravings for sweets aren't there. Keep doing what your doing, it's already paying off!

Well, Day 3 was success, except for the strawberry I ate last night...it was delicious! :) I will say yesterday afternoon I was thinking about all the delicious foods I couldn't eat, but I pushed through it. Today is day 4, 1 juice in and I'm feeling pretty good. I did feel stopped up however so I had a half a cup of Senna tea last night. I was able to go to the bathroom this morning which helped. That stuff makes me nervous, but I think it may have been what I needed. I've lost 5bs, but I suspect it is mostly water weight and it will return once I start eating real food again. Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

Jen, I like to think of food as "I can have it, but I don't want it" instead of "I want it, but I can't have it". I forget where I heard that but when you think along those lines, it's easier to stay juicing.

Just read through this thread and wanted to add that the juicing I've done in the past couple of weeks has changed my cravings so much. I went to the Movie Theater with my husband the other day and tried to eat my usual small bag of popcorn. It tasted horrible...all I could taste were chemicals. I ate two pieces and then had to quit. I was shocked and really happy. Didn't have to use self-control. My cravings are changing all by themselves just from juicing!

PattiRob, isn't it amazing how much your taste changes? You're resetting your taste buds when you juice. When I first went back to solids I couldn't believe how much flavor food actually had. Not only that, I had no desire or cravings to eat the same kind of stuff I ate in the past. Keep juicing in your routine and it only gets better!

Hi all, I'm new here. I tried a 3 day juice fast before and found it extremely difficult but I've decided to try the 7 day so will need a lot of will power!

After watching a documentary last night called Fat sick and nearly dead, the guy healed his body by juice fasting, it's given me some motivation. I have a chronic stomach condition which I really want to try and heal naturally as it's been hanging around for 2 years now. So day one will be this Sunday. 😕

Is it ok to add avocados and bananas to the juices, I just find them much more filling?

Trazza, congrats on making the decision to fast, and welcome to JOJ! Post every day and talk about about how your day is going. It will make you feel more accountable and less likely to fall out of your fast.

I hope your able to cure your stomach issue. I'm sure if you juice long enough it will go away or feel much better. Let me know if you have any questions.

My wife and I decided to start our juice fast today. Since we're both scheduled for a medical procedure that requires us to fast and flush out our large intestine the day before, it seemed like a good idea to get a head start. She'll be fasting for a week and myself for two weeks.
I've gone from 280 lbs. to 260 lbs. over the past couple months by going to the gym and eating a low glycemic diet. Be interesting to see how much I lose from the fast.

Congrats on starting your juice fast Hangman! I'm sure you will both do very well on the fast. Keep me posted, I'm willing to bet you'll lose no less than 20 pounds within two weeks of juicing if you stick with it 100%!

Hi I'm on day 4, I'm only doing 5 this time. I woke up this morning feeling dreadful, very weak, no energy and breathless, any tips?

Trazza, drink more juice and water. Try changing up some of the recipes that you are using. Keep us posted.
