Good morning Day 17- and I feel much better this morning. Had my juice last night and made it through. Today I get through another luncheon. Just saw the video of the lady who survived the tornado in Oklahoma and was missing her dog and he came out during the interview-made me cry. On this juice fast, emotions are so raw sometimes but love feeling and not clouding my being with toxic substances. Feel so much more alive-"Remember that the most powerful motivation is spiritual motivation, so expose yourelf to the spiritual." Have a great day!

Awesome Corpusmae! Keep on juicing! When I'm fasting my emotions are generally okay but do fluctuate sometimes. If anything, I'm much more happy and alive.

I've never frozen vegetables before but I assume they would hold their nutritional value in the same way that fruit does. Just make sure they are thawed out before you juice them.

Hey there, Day 18 and feel great. I have an incredible amount of stress at work right now and am so happy I am able to deal with it without unhealthy, crappy food. I do feel more alive, present, strong and able. It feels great. My son texted me tonight,"I could juice forever" cause he is feeling the same. So glad I began this. I fit in pants I didn't fit in for awhile, lots of compliments and feel good about my health most of all. Going to keep on going, no timeline for me just health...when I am done I will probably eat raw and still juice, this is a lifestyle change for me and I am worth it-

You guys rock! 18 days! Woo Hoo!!! You're absolutely right in juicing being a lifestyle change. It's not so much a diet but rather a lifestyle change that many are starting to understand. 18 Days, I bet when you look back three weeks ago to how you felt then, you would have never guessed in less than a month you would feel how you feel right now. LOL I am on Day 20! As I mentioned before I am losing track of days. I can hardly believe it myself. Yesterday was a tough day at work and I have to admit last night for a brief moment I thought of breaking the fast and told myself I had done well and I could go off for a few days and come back on and I know I can do that...but I would have just been giving in to old ways. It wasn't about the fast, it was about the emotions of the day and what I used to do when I had a tough day, reward myself with excess food that wasn't healthy. What I really needed was sleep because it was an intense week and I was emotionally drained and that is just what I did. I slept early and woke up and weighed and I was down. Part of it lack of sleep does not help with weight loss. So I am glad I followed through. Yes I can stop but I love how I feel inside, I love my pants being loose all over and I love the energy I have to sustain through difficult situations and more to come on Monday, so I have to be ready. So time for the treadmill, unfortunately I have to work again this morning on a day I would prefer to be home but hey I have a paycheck and home when many others do not and I do love my job. So here I go, warm water, lemon, treadmill, juice and off I go. Hope you all are sticking with it, it is worth it. "Remember Edison's remark: 'If we did all the things we are capable of doing we would literally astonish ourselves' Astonish yourself!" Have a great day!!!

Sleep does play an important role in weight loss. That's when your body recovers. When we have very trying days mentally and physically our bodies need that sleep. Trust me, if you don't give your body proper sleep, it will catch up with you.

Have a great day and keep up the awesome juicing!

Good morning-sometimes I am tempted to stop and eat some real food and then the thought escapes me, thank goodness. I will stop when I am ready. Today I had a great workout, have been doing 30 minutes on treadmill, but today I went out on the street and did about half hour, walking, a little jogging and then came back, rested a bit and did 40 minutes on treadmill. It felt great. My pants are getting looser everyday. Drinking my juice now although I have to admit I was hungry about 10 minutes after I finished. Just got invited to lunch with a friend I haven't seen for awhile. Going to have soup at this restaurant and possibly a salad, hey have to do what I can...but I will be right back on it tonight. We'll see if I get called out. Have to admit today I thought of eating bacon and eggs, haven't had meat since September-random thought- sounds good, just love that bacon smell but hey I prefer the way I feel, it's that Sunday morning old buffet thought or cooking for everyone that crossed my mind...it will pass and I do not want to sabotage how great I feel. Going into the pool in a bit for a quick swim, did that yesterday also. Glad the weather is cooperating. Well better get going before I get a call for at least 30 minutes in pool. Thanks for all the support. Happy Sunday!

Corpusmae, you've been doing so good! Have you reached your goals yet? What goals did you set at the start of your juice fast? It may be time to ease back into solids if you've reached your goals now. Let me know and we will figure out a plan for you to introduce solids back into your diet.

Donny, I have not reached my goal. My goal was to go 30-60 days, more like 60 days. But now I am rethinking it some and may stop at 30 days and start slowly introducing food. I have been watching lots of documentaries and saw the engine 2 food plan. I am thinking that if I get off the juice I will eat the foodplan on there. I already bought the book Sunday but I still have quite a bit of weight to lose. Tomorrow morning I am going for my metabolic results with my doctor. I will discuss the results with her and then about a week later I have an appointment with my specialist in regards to IBS. I told them both I was doing the juice fast. I feel sooo much better but I will wait to see what the results show. Even if I follow that food plan I will still juice every so many days. Maybe you can help me figure out how that would work, would I eat for a few days and then juice or juice two meals and add one. I love juicing, it gives me so much energy and is so easy. Hey Jesus went 40 days so I think I am okay. I made some fresh delicious juice this morning for my hubby and me. He is not into vegetables at all so I keep trying to sneak it in juice when I can. He hardly eats fruit although likes it so now I am making him many fresh juices. My son is doing great also, has no intention of stopping now. My goal is to lose 100 pounds. I will let you know how much weight I have lost since I started eliminating meat in September and the amount I have lost since juice fast. From there I will determine how many more pounds I need to lose.. The weight loss is the bonus, the health benefit is the gift- Energy, no sore legs unless I work out-Ha, the clean feeling inside and out, the mental state and the realization that you can take care of yourself around so much processed fast food and the knowledge you learn as you embark on this journey to wellness. I thank you for having this site... I could have probably done it somewhere, maybe Joe Cross's site but I like that this site is so friendly, personal and you are so great at encouragement. Thanks Donnie, just spent about 2 hours in the pool today, giving my knee a rest from yesterday. Let me know your thoughts- "Think health, practice health, pray health." Health my ultimate goal!!!

Hi Corpusmae,
You are doing fantastic! bI am also debating whether or not go into 30 or 60 days. I started this as a 10-day cleanse but I know I can go for more days, and I know I need to loose the weight. It is hard to keep changing my mind about it but that happens when I read too many blogs, too many stories, too many facts. Some say that the weight loss after 10 days will be coming out of the muscles and I don't think that is good at all. What if after 60 days I loose the weight but also I end up all muscle-less? hahaha

Do you have any suggestions JOJ, for this unsettled mind? I still need to loose 31kg (68lb) and I know I need a plan in order to be successful. I need to make up my mind soon.

Thanks for all the support!

Corpusmae, when you decide to start going back on solids it's best to slowly introduce them into your system. The way that best worked for me was to include a dinner meal consisting of just the fruits and veggies that I juiced. That worked very well for me. I wasn't really introducing any new foods into my system, just those that I were already juicing. After a week of doing that I was ready to start eating just about anything I wanted. But you still have to be cautious of your health and what you eat.

Quetxalli, you will lose muscle mass but not enough to be all muscle-less. You're body will get rid of weight where it deems most appropriate to lose it. Anytime you lose weight you risk losing muscle mass. That usually isn't a problem unless your a body builder or mass builder. You'll still lose fat, and more fat than muscle during your juice fast. Hope this helps :)

I'm on my 24th day and still juicing. I don't worry about how long to continue juicing at this point. I just focus on how many days I have completed and how I feel and of course the weight loss. I have lost 12 lbs and feel that is a little under what most are losing. We are all unique so I will take the loss and be happy. I do wonder if I am doing everything possible to lose the weight. I only juice, but I have eaten 1 slice of cucumber one day and another day ate 5 natural prunes and another night I ate 1 almond. I would like to hear comments whether you feel that could jeapordize the momentum. Would love to hear from you!!!

Hey everyone, Great to hear from all of you- it keeps me going. Had a great dr. visit, lost 26 pounds since I eliminated meat in September, and 1/2 that weight was lost just by juicing in only 3 weeks. Feel great. Results my triglycerides are down from 244-144, good cholesterol up, bad cholesterol down to 140, aiming for lower than 130, good cholesterol aiming for 145, no anemia, Vitamin D- great, Vitamin B12 great, no diabetes, liver great, kidneys great, no bladder infections- my doctor was super excited. So 74 pounds to go. Thanks for the help on re-introducing food, will start with vegetables and fruits slowly. Finally figured out my days,22nd day-8 more for 30 days...one day at a time...love the changes, thanks everyone for your words of encouragement...back at you, "Old unhealthy thoughts can block off inspiration and motivation. Dropping them releases a strong flow of power through the mind." Keep on keeping on!

You'll still continue to juice and add food into your diet. It's really the best way to go while ensuring your body is still getting all the vitamins and nutrients it's been used to while on the fast. Keep on Juicing!

Just finished reading this thread and so happy with all of the results. Donny, you're great inspiration
and keep everyone's spirits up. CorpusMae, I love reading your posts and want to try something like you.
I do need to lose a little weight, but my main reason will be to detox my system. I can stand to lose about 20 pounds
too.
I have saved my regular size clothes in anticipation of getting in them. :)
I want to feel better and not this toxic (wine induced) way I feel now.
Found a sweet girl's website that is terrific with raw food recipes and this is diet I am going on after a juice fast. http://www.thisrawsomeveganlife.com/
Our local Craigslist has one of those BigBoss Juicers for 45.00, going to hope he still has it and buy today.
Will be joining you within a few and going for at least 7 day, and see what goes from there.

Today is my day 30 and I'm going to keep on it for now. I've lost 15 lbs so far and really don't have any more energy that I had before. I hate to say that, but it is the truth. The main positive changes I've experienced is that I sleep much better and don't have the slumps after eating a meal like I did before. Also, the cravings for carbs have been over after day 3 and all I want right now is grilled salmon and veggies. I go to the beach this Friday so it will be an adjustment, but I've been through birthdays, mother's day and memorial day without giving in so I think I can take a few days at the beach with my juicer in tow. I will probably eat a small bowl of lettuce for dinner and some fruit. Does anyone have suggestions on making a dressing for salads. I don't use much but I would like to make my own.

Goldie, Grats on 30 days! I usually just use lemon and pepper for dressing when I'm not juicing. But experiment with different ideas like the following:

Juice some of the following in separate smaller glasses:

lemon
raspberry
lime
tomato
orange

Experiment by mixing a little bit of them together. For example, mix a little bit of lemon, raspberry, lime together. Add some pepper and see how it tastes. If it's not what you like experiment more by mixing different ingredients together. I really like the lemon/raspberry/pepper though. It's pretty good!

Irene, After a full 3 days of juicing, getting to 10 is very easy. You can do it, and I'll be right here juicing with you. Looking forward to it!

Good morning everyone! WooHoo Goldie 30 days, will be there tomorrow! Irene and Nichole so glad to have you aboard, it is definitely worth it. I feel incredible and right now my shorts are hanging on. The greatest thing is the ability to know you are stronger than you think. This forum has helped me tremendously, keep sharing, it keeps you going, the ups and the downs. Another thing educate yourself and learn why you are on this journey-your mindset will change from I can't have this ( processed, refined foods) to I can have this but I choose not to ( because they make me lethargic, bloated and they are chemicals that are created that are not good for my body). I keep reading and watching documentaries that help me, love Hungry for Change, Forks over Knives, Eat to Live Book, Engine 2 book, The End of Overeating (book) that describes what the food industry does to market and addict you to all that sugar, salt and fat. It changes your mindset. And all change is a matter of mindset...this I have learned slowly since September. I've always battled food but finally I understand why and I can take the reins back. Focus on your vision- if it's health, then see what has held you back ( run through your unhealthy rituals-heard this on Anthony Robbins, then create new rituals to replace those). This forum is one of my rituals, my lemon water in the morning is one of my rituals, cutting up my fruits and veggies is another ritual, drinking my juice another ritual, reading instead of eating another ritual...and it has all brought me to here and my life is so much better. I do not spend time obsessing oh I wish I could have this, I make a decision on what is best for me and this is so much different. This has proved to me as my son said, "that I am stronger than I think" and I believe that now. Saturday I began training for a climb I am going to do in North Carolina this summer, I did Diamond Head in March and did not believe I could even make that when in Feb. I could only climb 5 steps without being out of breath. Back in February it was I can't, I can't, I can't...and still doubted myself on the climb day in March but was determined to complete it all because I told my staff I was. I made it through aches, pain, and when I got done I rewarded myself with 2 donuts(lovely LOL). This past Saturday my hubby and I went to the stadium and climbed 222 stairs up and back with several breaks to get ready for the 400+ stairs that await me in July. I encouraged him on this time instead of the other way around, then I came home and went swimming. Yesterday my legs were like jelly at work but hey I didn't reward myself with all the cookies at the school event, I didn't give up and say, now I need to reward myself, no I continued with my different focus, different rituals, different mindset and I love it. When I got dressed yesterday morning, my husband said, "You look great." and I knew it was so. People are asking, "what's your secret?" when I tell them some of them don't want that answer but it is what it is. I am truly grateful for this site, for Joe Cross who inspired me to do something I never thought I could do but especially for my son who encourages me and led me to a different food experience when I thought he was judging us all with his vegetarian lifestyle. So hang in there and tomorrow I will share a book that really made an impact on me this weekend and had to read all the way through. You can do this!!!"When uncontrolled your mind can be very damaging to you, but when controlled it can develop unlimited power." Go forth, one juice at a time and be free!" Love you guys!
