Virgin Juicer

Hello To All!

I am going to be new to the juicing world as of (hopefully) Sunday. I have a few questions/concerns that any and all help would be appreciated! My mom and I are going to try and do a 10 day reboot.

Since November of 2011, I've lost between 25-32 pounds doing the WW (weight watchers) program. However, I've been pretty stagnant for SEVERAL months. I know that a lot of it just has to do with the pure fact that the foods we are exposed to anymore are simply just not healthy (no matter how hard we try to convince ourselves that they are).

I feel like I've become pretty knowledgeable about the juicing world but, had a question as far as scheduling out the day. I know we are looking at between 4-6 juices per day. So, is this mostly a schedule of like every two hours? Only when you're hungry? Only during typical "meal" times?

I schedule at least 45 mins to an hour and a half of working out about 5 days out of each week but, I'm concerned with the hard core working out while I'm just juicing. Thoughts on what is healthy? I know that the strenuous workouts are not really something our bodies are supposed to be used for but, I don't want to completely come off of working out. (I am just completing the INSANITY workout series and running 2 1/2 to 3 miles a day).

Also, as it is officially getting into the summer months, we are going to be busy with out of town visits, weddings, cook outs, etc. What is the best way to prepare for these events while juicing?

Thanks to all who read and or respond for your help! I'm excited to see what benefits juicing really has to offer!

l1lred29, welcome to JOJ and thanks for your post. Congrats on the weight loss over the past several months. As far as a schedule I don't like to follow any certain schedule as your body will tell you when it's hungry. Just have a juice when you're hungry but try to understand the difference between hunger and a craving. Hunger is when your body is telling you it needs nutrients and cravings are when your mind tells you to eat out of habit.

I would lighten your workout at least during the first 3-5 days of your juice fast so you can adjust. It's best to just relax and let the detox process work it's way through.

You can prepare your juices ahead of time but I would drink them within 8 hours if possible. You can store them in airtight containers, just make sure they are filled to the top and sealed tight. Pack them in a cooler with ice and drink when you need to.

I hope this helps l1lred29. I'll be here if you have any other questions.

l1lred29, I was doing TurboFire through March and April. I decided to stop exercising while juicing. I know I'll lose some muscle mass but I guess it's not really all that important to me. After I've finished my fast I'll go back to TurboFire and build up some muscle again.

Claire, yeah, you know I've looked into the TurboFire. How do that program work for you?

JustOnJuice, I'm on day one. Holy Cow! I've had two juices but, I'm not enjoying them. I've not had many side effects other than I'm just hungry and I feel tired. Trying to keep my mind right through this but, it's def. not been an easy day.

l1lred29, don't worry, the taste gets better. I wasn't too fond of the flavor when I first started but after a few days couldn't wait to have my juice. That hunger you are feeling is there based on your old eating habits. That will pass also. Just stay strong and keep your goals in mind l1lred29.
