New to juicing, any advice?
on: May 21, 2013, 22:04

I recently got a juicer

What general advice would you give to someone new to juicing?

Excellent GamingGeekDude. I suggest juicers that are atleast 700+ watts for optimal juicing but try out the black and decker and let me know how it goes. As far as advice, read this article as I went into detail on the basics ( http://www.justonjuice.com/how-to-juice-fast ). But the best advice I can give you is to set your goals, and don't let anything stand in your way.

"Willpower is essential to the accomplishment of anything worthwhile." Keep this in mind while on your fast!

I was 212 lbs before I started juicing, today I am 185 lbs and feel better than I did 10 years ago!

I tried it once so far and while it did work and I got a decent glass of juice from it. This juicer does have one downside, a small shoot. So I do have to cut what ever I am juicing into small pieces. I did get about a ten ounce glass though. I will see how this one fairs when I try some other stuff.

Sounds good! As long as you're getting some good juice out of it!

My masticating juicer came with 2 sieves- one with larger holes. I am assuming that the larger holes mean you get more pulp in the juice. I am juicing to loose weight. Does it matter which sieve I use?

No, it shouldn't matter which sieve you use. Try them both out and see if you notice a difference in anything.

I wanted to started juicing for my first time no later than Monday. I had question though. Is it okay to use bottled 100% lemon juice or 100% lime juice in place of fresh lemon or lime?

I would not use anything out of a bottle if I could avoid it. Most things in bottle even if they are 100% juice have been pasteurized by a rapid heating process. You want to get as close to natural as you can. Go with real lemons and limes :)
